Terms of service
— the house rules
The agreement between you and ChoiceUpliftLane when you use this site, book a session or hold a membership. Short sentences, no trap doors.
The short version
Train hard, be decent, follow the floor rules. Memberships are month-to-month with a week's notice to cancel. Bookings need 12 hours' notice to move. Injuries: tell us about them — hiding a bad shoulder helps nobody. Everything else is below.
Who it covers
Every person using this website, booking a session, or training under a ChoiceUpliftLane membership.

Using this website
The site is for finding out about the club and booking sessions. Don't scrape it, don't break it, don't pretend to be us. Content here is general information — prices and timetables change, and the version at the club desk is the final word if they ever disagree with the site.
Bookings and cancellations
- Trial sessions and PT bookings: 12 hours' notice to move or cancel, or the session counts as used.
- Class spots: release your booking in the app if you can't make it — someone on the waitlist wants it.
- Repeat no-shows (three strikes) move you to the back of the booking queue for a month.
Late by more than 15 minutes to PT and the session is forfeited — a coach's hour is a coach's hour.
Memberships
- All plans bill monthly in advance, priced per week on the site for easy comparison.
- Cancel or switch plans with 7 days' notice — in the app or at the desk.
- Freezes: up to 8 weeks per year for travel, injury or life, free of charge.
- Memberships are personal — no sharing, no lending your app login.
Full pricing lives on the prices page; refund rules are on the refunds page.
Health and safety on the floor
- Tell us about injuries, conditions and medications that affect training — before the session, not after the incident.
- Follow coach instructions and floor rules: rerack plates, strip bars, chalk in the bowls, shoes on.
- Under-16s train only in the youth program or with a parent present.
- We can refuse service or end a membership for dangerous or abusive behaviour — it's happened twice in seven years and we'd like to keep it rare.
Assumption of risk and liability
Exercise carries risk, including serious injury. By training here you accept that risk, within the limits of New Zealand law — our coaches exist to shrink that risk, and the law's consumer guarantees still apply to everything we do. ACC covers personal injury in NZ as usual; we also recommend appropriate insurance for high-value training commitments.
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses — but that's never an excuse to do our job badly.
Changes and contact
Terms get updated occasionally; the date at the top shows the current version and material changes get announced at the desk. Questions about anything here: choiceupliftlane@gmail.com or +64 7 839 5612. Related reading: privacy, legal & GDPR, refunds.
